At Jade Terrace located in Times Square New York City, Alexis & Fido had the opportunity to promote their latest album ‘Sobrenatural’ (Supernatural). The album is already available, as of, November 13th. The Pitbulls, Kings of Perreo are now also Supernatural. Accompanied by the Yetsons they spoke with the top reggaeton website, Reggaetonline.net.
Reggaetonline.net: How did you come up with the name ‘Sobrenatural?’
Alexis: Well, that was my partner Fido. When we were looking for a name we wanted it to sound as if from another planet. A name that makes it sound like Alexis & Fido are from another planet. A lot of names came to mind, a lot of ideas, but the one Fido came up with was the perfect title for this album. Well, everyone at our label Sony BMG liked the name and ‘Sobrenatural’ is what we are.
Reggaetonline.net: Did you do all of the production or did you have other producers, too?
Fido: We worked with AA & Nales, the Presidents they were in reality the ones who worked on part of the album like the intro & the merengue song. We did the lyrics, but they said: “We want to do this for the album, you know.” And we all worked together.
Reggaetonline.net: What have you guys learned from the beginning to now regarding making a song?
Alexis: Look, Alexis & Fido are one of the few duos in reggaeton that know what they are going to sing about, you know. From the beginning as a duo we wanted to sound different, say something no one has said, bring a fresh concept without offending women, but making them have fun, you understand. That’s the recipe, we’ve never changed it nor will we change it, that’s what has brought us our success to this point. And thanks to the public who have had us among their favorites.
Reggaetonline.net:(for the Yetsons) What have you learned about the music industry?
Small: One of the most important things is to make good music all the time and keep making things happen.
Antony: The most I’ve learned from father here, Alexis, as I call him out of love is that a person can’t look to the side. A person has to be about what they are doing, keeping in a straight line and have a goal. And that in reality is what will make us successful, doing what we do and being original.
