Back by popular demand, reggaeton sensation Daddy Yankee will host Daddy Yankee LIVE radio event from the CHAKRA club in South Beach to kick off the Billboard Latin Music Conference and Awards - the hottest week in Latin Music. As part of the event, Daddy Yankee On Fuego Radio Show will be broadcast live on Monday, April 23 from CHAKRA at 8:00 pm
The event will feature the best of old school reggaeton and the new blood of the genre. "I am thrilled to present the past and present of the genre, the best of the old school and the best of the new blood of reggaeton presenting Miguelito," said Daddy Yankee.
Adding to the excitement for fans who will be lucky enough to see Yankee at CHAKRA is the buzz about the long-anticipated CD "El Cartel: The Big Boss," which will be released on June 5.
"The superstar Q&A session with Daddy Yankee was a highlight of the 2006 Billboard Latin Music Conference, so we're extremely excited that he is taking part in this year's pre-conference party," says Leila Cobo, Billboard's Executive Director of Content and Programming for Latin Music and Entertainment. "Daddy Yankee is one of those unique artists who come along very rarely. He spearheaded a new wave of Latin music into the mainstream and our week-long event wouldn't be the same without him."
In just one year of syndication Daddy Yankee On Fuego Radio Show has had tremendous success attracting younger audiences for advertisers. Event sponsors include Orbits, Southwest Airlines and the United States Navy.
"Working with Daddy Yankee is amazing. He continues to show his relevance every day through every valuable touch point in our business-listeners, advertisers and affiliates," said Kevin Miller, Senior Vice President, Business Development, ABC Radio Networks.
With 58% Hispanic DMA coverage Daddy Yankee dominates top markets. He is heard on 27 stations across the country.
