Erre XI is the brain child of Francisco Saldana, aka Luny, so there was never a doubt when it came to the talent and potential of this new group. The buzz around Erre XI has been coming on so strong that even veteran Reggaeton artists Rakim and Ken Y publicly denounce the new group as an imitation of themselves. Although Rakim and Ken Y threw the first stone in this battle of duos, they also threw a second stone that is guaranteed to knock them and their bank accounts off balance.
‘Llorare’, is a smooth flowing ballad set to be released with Erre XI’s debut album “Erre XI™ Los Originales” this year. The song has been finding its way around myspace sicne november of 2007, and will no doubt be a huge hit for Erre XI. Where is the controversy you ask? Well, Rakim and Ken Y decided to steal the song and change the lyrics a bit, hoping to beat Erre XI to the punch and claim yet another hit song for themselves. Instead of LLORARE, I will cry, the new Rakim and Ken y lyrics are rumored to be TE AMARE, I will love you, with other lyric changes that go along with that theme.
The kicker is that Rakim and Ken Y are in for a rude awakening that is long over due. The song, ‘Llorare,’ its lyrics, and music where registered in 2007 by the good people at Mas Flow. Rakim and Ken Y have also been rumored to have stolen songs of other artists and song writers in the past. The difference this time around is that they messed with the wrong artists and management team, and Francisco Saldana has already begun to pursue legal action against the duo and all parties involved.
