Default Is Reggeton declining now that its sounding more like Pop?

Some people may be like nah but I think so. If you look 3 yrs back, Reggaeton was Huge! Mad good songs were out and even rappers were including reggaeton artists such as R. Kelly having Wisin & Yandel in burn it up. But you dont see that anymore and even Tego said that he no longers considers himself as a reggaeton artist because of the change of its sound. Idk about anybody else but the songs today are hot but i would rather listen to songs that are like what we have seen in 2004-2005. Pa'l Mundo to Los Extraterrestres is a greta example of it. Think about it because I do think its popularity is declining and its not as raw or street as before which made it huge.

another good example is alexis y fido in los pitbulls and in sobrenatural, fido cannot sing yet thats the only way he'll get radio play, and in that song la llamada alexis says "el unico duo de reggaeton que no canta como menudo" but look at them now

reggaeton is a fast changing genre..its not even called reggaeton anymore its called el genero urbano because there are so many othe rstyles. anyway if reggaeton wasn't as progressive as it is we would still be listening to playero and the noise sounding stuff...not that stuff was bad it was awesome, but reggaeton has to change. if you want "true" "true" reggaeton listen to playero and all that stuff cuz 2004-2005 was a different sound completely as well.

Cool

Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, and Wisin y Yandel can't be the only ones selling here. There's over 40 million latinos c'mon. Fuk other genres in comparison. Real talk salsa, merengue, and bachata artists get 20x more exposure but generally don't sell half as much as reggaeton. Why? Cuz their music is not a movement. And I like musica tropical, but it can't express what our music does. There's much more to el underground besides perreo. Get it right. Fuk musica urbana, esto es underground. That name wasn't invented by us, it's the media that gave us that name.

Well... I think it IS turning-off a lot of people who want a hard agressive sound. And who wanna dance. Like you say, Pal Mundo and Extraterrestres are two different things. Imagine Aprovechalo at a party, cut it, and then put Manigueta and what happens! You can't really dance to a lot of the newish material that's out which is a fuking bummer lol. I went to the Wisin y Yandel concert here last month with a friend and it was like... couldn't dance to half that sh!t. I really thought about it after the concert like "DAMÑ". Kinda depressed me! I mean it was a nice concert basically sold out, don't get me wrong, but I was looking around at everybody around me and I swear to God all anybody could do half the time was bob their head & wak sh!t like that. Then I thought back to '07 Blin Blineo concert here before todays more pop-ish sound and remember everybody was straight WILIN OUT at that concert!! Now that one was HOTT! But then again, the best song of the night @ the WyY concert [the last too] was definetly Sexy Movimiento, everybody was feeling that song. So yea, I just think reggaetoneros should keep a balance instead of just doing one style... Wisin y Yandel obv aren't the only people doing reggaetón but they the only people to have a big concert here which is disgraceful. Some people like Jowell y Randy, Chezina, Speedy, Notch and Don have visited clubs and performed but HELLO not everyone is 21. And sometimes you just can't make it lol. You can have house parties and sh!t with the best perreo songs in existence but sometimes you wanna hear and see live shows lol.

Reggaeton is mixed with everything. I've seen Reggaeton + Bachata, Merengue, Hip Hop, RNB, Kumbia, & a lot whole other XXXX which is why its not called Musica Urbana.
