It isn't that they don't spell their r's they don't pronounce it either. Like Voltio in Bumper he says "Rompe el Bumpel". He doesn't say Bumper. And I also noticed Yaviah is sometimes spelled Javiah. And I think it started out Javiah but b/c ppl were pronouncing the j like a j and not a y like you do in spanish they changed the spelling so its spelled like it sounds.

We can't say "ALL" Boricuas pronounce it like that, but the people I know and speak to pronounce the "L" instead of the "R".
