A panel titled “Reggaeton: Fad or Lasting force?” was held during the first day of the Conference where Hector El Bambino, “The Father”,artist and producer from GoldStar Music sat down along side DJ Kazzanova, Music Director, WCAA-FM New York; Gus Lopez, President, Machete Music; Anthony Perez, President, The Roof Records/Perfect Image Productions; Ricky Ricardo, Clear Channel Radio and Tony Touch, Artist, EMI Latin, to discuss and answer questions about the growing popularity of Reggaeton and its staying power in the music industry.

The day’s events ended with live entertainment from a few artists including Hector El Bambino. “Hector had great performance,” stated Javier Gomez, Gold Star Music Records CEO. “He was very happy that everyone there seemed to be aware of what was going on in Reggaeton today. It was a very positive event. The panel went great and it was surprising that everybody was very aware of exactly what Reggaeton is. We had a chance to talk about Reggaeton before and after Daddy Yankee.”

This year fans in the United States will be able to see first hand what Reggaeton artist have to offer the world of entertainment. “I feel very proud to be there along with other great artists of Hip-Hop and today’s music,” Hectors states, “It’s an honor for me that this opportunity came and I am very grateful. I will give it my best to show that there’s a lot that “The Father” has to offer [the music industry].”

Hector will be traveling to Europe for a tour August 8th – 22nd. When asked what he planned to accomplish during his visit he replied, “I want to take this Latin music to all the corners of the world so that the rest of the world knows that our voice is being heard. I want the other music we make like Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Cumbia…everything that we Latinos do to get the same kind of recognition.” Hector will also be part of the “Libertad Music Festival 2005” along with Reggaeton artist Wisin y Yandel and Zion y Lennox. The tour will make stops in Miami, Dallas, New York, and Los Angeles.
