On Wednesday August 3, 2005, the winners of the El Draft contest were announced. Reggaeton artist and producer Chencho, of the duo Plan B, originally came up with the concept of finding stars in Reggaeton and giving them worldwide exposure. Chencho teamed up with Boy Wonder and UBO President Adam Kidron to create El Draft. Fans had a chance to listen to the entire group of finalist a second time and chose a winner. Artists such as Cheka, Amaro, Fuego, Angel Doze, LDA, and Rakim y Ken Y were among the choices. The event was held at Club Spirit, and was co-sponsored by Miller Beer and New York's only full-time Reggaeton radio station, La Kalle 105.9. DJ Kasanova hosted the evening’s festivities and announced the winners of the content as Rakim y Ken Y. Many of the artists featured in El Draft performed including Cheka, Amaro, Fuego, Angel Doze, LDA, Rakim y Ken Y, and Reychester. Bimbo stole the show with his crowd pleasing performance and was followed by Nina Sky and Reggaeton super stars Zion and Lennox.
