With the usual press conference In Loiza and in-store autograph sessions for fans, Tego Calderon kicks off the release of his highly anticipated album The Underdog/El Subestimado". He sat late Monday night in a record store in Puerto Rico and at midnight signed autographs for the first fans to purchase his new album. For years he has proven himself a man of the people, unaffected by the fame that he now has.
Tego is known for his laid back style and true to life lyrics. He grew up, just like many others around the world, on Hip-hop, and this shows directly through the music he makes. With the pressure for all reggaeton artists to cross over, and to make instant hits, Tego is one rapper/Reggaeton artists who ‘keeps it real’.
Fans are already poised to purchase “The Underdog/El Subestimado". Many tracks have already been leaked for download online. A few fans have been quoted as saying, “Although I have downloaded the entire albums already, free, I will still purchase “The Underdog/El Subestimado” because I want to show Tego my support.” It is this kind of response that will continue to set Tego Calderon apart from the rest of his competition. Tego will continue to be in a league of his own.
