Puerto Rico native Voltio makes deep-grooved reggaeton that distinguishes itself from other music in the genre with its clean production, trance-like choruses, and Voltio's mesmerizing voice. In fact, Voltio's music often seems to share more with Dirty South hip-hop and urban contemporary R&B than with reggaeton. "El Mellao," for example, from Voltio's 2007 release, is a case in point. Heavy-lidded and sensual, the track is tailor-made for blasting from Jeep speakers while cruising through the neighborhood.
