Wisin & Yandel Present New CD in Miami - Reggaeton News

Wisin & Yandel were in Miami today presenting their new album, Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres and announced their first ever W&Y Zune custom device through a partnership with Microsoft, Machete Music and Wal-mart. The activity took place in the exclusive Havana Club in Miami.

Leila Cobo, Editor of the Billboard Magazine served as MC for the event to which music industry, Microsoft and label executives attended as well as media from all the major outlets. The activity began with brief welcoming remarks from Leila and the presentation of Wisin & Yandel, Gustavo Lopez, Machete Music, President, and Javier Farfan Zune’s Manager of Multicultural Marketing.

Gustavo López took the podium and presented the Duo a commemorative plaque that marked the sale of over one million copies worldwide of their previous CD, “Pa’l Mundo”. Lopez took the opportunity to thank Wisin & Yandel for all their hard work and dedication in these last three years. “In Machete Music, we are very pleased with the Wisin & Yandel’s high level of performance,” stated the Machete executive.

“Wisin & Yandel are one the biggest Latin artists in the world and we are thrilled to have them as a new member of the Zune family of devices,” said Javier Farfan, Zune’s Multicultural Marketing Manager. “Wisin & Yandel are a favorite among Latino music lovers and this gives Zune a genuine way to connect with their fans and continue making music a social experience.”

The device will be available in every Wal-Mart store and will include:

The CD features collaborations from hot artists such as: Franco De Vita, Eve, Fat Joe and Don Omar. Wisin & Yandel once again prove their mastery by including 19 tracks where they combine different fusions of music that includes Hip-Hop, Dance and Reggae Roots, to create their own sound and style.

Two examples of these are tracks they created inspired on classics of music by Pancho Galán y la Sonora Matancera and Lalo Rodriguez. These are “Ahora Es” which is an adaptation of “Ay Cosita Linda” by Pancho Galán y La Sonora Matancera and “Te Hizo Mujer” which is an adaptation of “Ven Devórame” by Lalo Rodriguez. Once again the album had the collaboration of some of the best producers in the business such as: Nesty “La Mente Maestra”, Victor “El Nasi”, Urba & Monserrate, Tainy and Gómez.

The video for “Sexy Movimiento” will begin rotation on Thursday, October 25th on every music video channel and the album Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres will be available on November 6th.

Miami was the first stop for this “Dynamic Duo’s” promotional tour. Wisin y Yandel will continue to Orlando, Florida on November 5th, Los Angeles November 6th and then Las Vegas where they will be participating in the Latin Grammy’s and officially presenting their new album and the limited edition W&Y Zune. Then, they will return to Puerto Rico on the 9th to do the same in their native land. On the 13th they will continue their promotional tour that will take them to New York, Chicago and Dallas.
